What exactly is ecology, and why is it important? If you are interested in the life sciences— from animal science to marine biology, environmental science to zoology—but do not know how to pursue all of these fields at once, you should consider the field of ecology. This FIGS will focus on topics such as the evolutionary origins and maintenance of biodiversity, the conservation and restoration of native ecosystems, and the management of natural resources within rural and urban environments. You will discover relevant academic and co-curricular resources, while also interacting with faculty from the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources and exploring a variety of exciting careers in this dynamic, growing field.
