We are excited that you have decided to learn more about First-year Interest Group Seminars (FIGS) at Rutgers University. FIGS are one-credit seminars taught by upper-class students to aid first-year students in their transition to college while exploring an academic interest area. FIGS have impacted the lives of hundreds of Rutgers students for many years. The experience is best described by Carena Aljallad, School of Arts & Sciences, Class of 2011:

Being a part of FIGS was probably the best thing I could have done as a first-year. Having a class that actually helps you transition into college made it so much easier than having to go about it alone. I learned a lot, met new people, and, above all, felt like a Rutgers student. |

Whether you are a first-year student planning to "explore" a particular field of study or an upper-class student interested in becoming a peer instructor, FIGS can help you find your niche at Rutgers, build leadership skills and connect with other undergraduate students.
We challenge you to explore our site to learn more about this exciting program and all that it has to offer. If you like what you see, we hope you will join the FIGS Community!
